When that happens, you add a qualifier to disambiguate what you want to tag. So if kitsenvt is taken up as the 'character' tag for Kitsen, then adding _(artist) gives us the free kitsenvt_(artist), which communicates to us that it is the 'artist' tag for the person occupying the kitsenvt tag.
