Artist's commentary
Hello! I will begin by saying that I am really sorry for having missed your appeal for my "Faerie Dragon" girl for so long. I only saw it yesterday night and if I had done so sooner I would have responded way earlier. On the positive side, the new month means new income so I can happily afford your services.
I am really glad you like her and I would be honoured to have her illustrated in your style. I really enjoy how you make the colours stand out from each other and the adorable ways you pose your characters. Most of all you are the first person who has reached out to me for a drawing request and that is very, very special to me!
I have named this character "Laffy" Which sounds similar to the English word for "Laughing" because it fit her really well. In true dragon fashion she has a "true name" that is so long and complicated even she messes it up at times.
Her fairy nature also trouble her companions as much as it endears herself to them. She begged—no, demanded fairy royalty to give her a noble title and so now Laffy is a little baroness that carries a very funny but useless noble title in the fairy world.
For the composition and style of this illustration, I will leave you with the creative freedom to do and draw whatever you want. You have mentioned that you would like to focus on her eyes, tail and wings and that sounds lovely and wonderful to me. A sort of glittery eyes expression, or puppy-dog eyes would be very cute and wholesome, but please feel free to do whatever inspires you most.
If you would like some direction I will provide a few potential different potential Ideas out of the top of my head, but again, I'd rather like an artwork that you enjoy drawing so feel free to either take inspiration or ignore these entirely!
Laffy eating ice cream too fast and getting an ice cream headache.
Laffy attempting to look intimidating like a real dragon... but just looking cute.
Laffy pouting and stomping her foot on the ground.
Laffy laughing after a successful prank.
(This is a link to where I have posted the images of Laffy and the inspirations that were used to create her in the first place.)
