This felt destined, but in a bad way.

Everything you just listed. I thought the story was nonsense, characters were anything but consistent, in case of Lucy in particular she turns into an entirely different character in the opening minutes of episode 6. Most characters, protagonists and antagonists, are profoundly idiotic, and their moronic decisions allow the story to take place. A story that is inconsequential to Night City at large and has bugger-all to do with the game it was trying to hype up.
