    Colored version of buff Samus

    I feel like she’s conveying the wrong attitude here. My original intent was simply to show off her physique. Not portray her as some mean-mugging bad-ass. Well, she is bad-ass in a sense, but not in this fashion. Anyway, it was still pretty fun to draw.

    well, canonically, she's over 6ft tall and buff. She got "prettified" later on, but Super Metroid's manual and art was very specific on the fact Samus was amazonian

    According to the manual for "Metroid II: Return of Samus" (Game Boy: 26 August 1991) (page: "Cybernetic Suit Technical Spec") she is "1m 90cm" (6 feet 2.8 inches) and "90kg" (198.416 pounds).

    When this was speculated to be the describing her power suit, the "Super Metroid Nintendo Player’s Guide" elaborated "The Power Suit hides a strong, muscular woman. Samus is nearly six feet, three inches tall and weighs nearly 200 pounds."

    The "Nintendo Official Guide Book for Super Metroid" (May 1994) had a part where the staff revealed secrets only they knew. Sakamoto Yoshio (director) revealed she has a mole somewhere on her body, Kubota Isamu (programmer) gave her age as late-twenties, and Kimura Hiroyuki (graphic artist) her measurements as B106-W60-H90 (centimeters, therefore B41.7-W23.6-H35.4), while Matsuoka Hirofumi (graphic artist) implied she was a "newhalf".
