The 'Wilted Lettuce' ninjutsu is a pun on a technique described in the book 'Even a Monkey Can Draw Manga', the contents of which should be carved onto the forehead of every aspiring and current manga artist. (Even after reading it, Cromartie High School seems to follow the rules...)
