A friend of mine was observant enough to notice some of those are the cookies from Yoshi's Cookie. Sneaky references are the best ones.
I think it's just a coincidence in this case. The checkerboard cookies in Yoshi's Cookie had four squares, not nine, and the round thumbprint cookies had orange or pale pink jam depending on the game version, not red. The heart and ring-shaped cookies are absent, as is the Yoshi cookie itself, which would have been an obvious giveaway.
A more likely explanation is that these are just really common types of cookie (common enough that we have tags for them) and some of them happened to be in the game for the same reason.
