Not if they make them like they do the cookies you get in stores. With presertives and stuff. Then they'll last freaking years. Or at least a year.

Or maybe they decided it would be better just to use store bought cookies from now on and stop making them home-made.

there is a second red herring as well. the checken on the chalkboard is a decoy. I think the actual chicken is just above the O in Cookie.

Nah. She isn't giving back the same cookies. She is giving the adequate number of cookies but they don't really need to be the same cookies, they only need to be the correct number.
Just like any bank, you don't get the same bills that you deposit.
