    Originally designed as high speed commence raiders, their crew soon realised that the lack of armor make them easy prey to fast firing light weapons of the very ships that they are supposed to hunt. But unfortunately many had already been completed before the flaw was discovered.
    In order to make up for the mistake, the military decided to make use of the countless obsolete tanks by taking their guns and armors to improve the fight capablities the boats. In order to fool the enemy intelligence, all the refitted boats were called "Panzerschiffe" or armored ships.

    Actually such a gun is of rather dubious value at all, it had no stabilization so firing on the move with any accuracy is impossible and you can't really bring a BOAT to a stop. There is a reason most patrol boats back then favored a battery of rapid fire machine guns or light cannons. Since you can’t really afford to stop and without computer stabilization accurate moving fire is extremely difficult volume was the name of the game.

    This thing also looks insanely un-seaworthy all that armor and weaponry topside will make it extremely top heavy and susceptible to rolling, compounding that is it's very narrow width which looks less then a PBR. The weight and narrow hull will also likely give it a very deep draft making it of questionable use in sallow waters like a river.

    It does look cool though...
