Why are we all calling it "graduation" when really she's just quitting? She's changing jobs.
It's the manner of speaking, really. 'Graduating' in japanese has more meanings than the EN counterpart; it also means 'finishes one's time of doing X' in good way, and it also carries hope of them suceeding in their next job.
IIRC, there's a story behind why it's called "graduation."
In Japan, years ago, there was an idol group with a high school theme. Then one day the group was being disbanded.
Rather than doing the expected thing and calling it a "retirement" they decided to play up the school theme and call it a graduation. (They had a whole ceremony where the individual members got called up and got a school certificate thingy)
For some reason as other idol groups disbanded or had members retire they bandwagon'd on and also called it graduation.
Now everyone in the idol industry in Japan calls it that and then for some reason the vTuber community also decided follow this tradition.
