Tinker Bell is a fairy character first appearing in the play Peter Pan in 1904. She is equipped with Pixie Dust, which grants her and others the ability to fly. Her name came from the fact that she was originally a fairy fixing pots and kettles, just like a tinker. Becoming one of Disney’s most popular and iconic characters, Tinker Bell was an original member of the Disney Princesses. However, they decided to let her have her own group of Disney Fairies, as she was so special. She is joined by Silvermist, Rosetta, Fawn, and Iridessa, her companions in a series of full-length feature films, beginning with 2008’s Tinker Bell.
