He probably knows about it. But I think this won over Gremory on a couple of factors:
1: I don't know if Gremory or it's pilot have in-universe nicknames, but Duo Maxwell calls himself the Shinigami.
2: Gremory has upper body armor which makes it look fat and bulky, it makes me think of a football player fully geared-up. Deathsythe Hell is slim and has wings that fold up over its body like a cloak, it also has those rib-like structures on the torso that match the rib-like trimmings on her dress.
3: Not to knock IBO (it's my favorite main series), but the setting is kind of brutal and doesn't suit Calli's kind of sophisticated, kind of scuff, kind of elegant style. I'd peg it more for Gura or Bae.

Probably because the Todesritter head running its H.A.D.E.S works as a two-fold reference over neon-green which would just be one.

Depending on how you want to do it by the theme of the design or by the design of it related to the theme; i made a Calli-themed Forbidden Gundam with the backpack giving it a nice Death-sensei form (actually also due to she sang Invoke)

Absolutely agreed with Gura theme on Gremory, planning on doing that too in kit form
