    The Nazi Occult - Ahnenerbe

    I recently retrieved some of my old work files from when I was still with IFS so I decided to share some of them here with you.

    This is one of a number of plate illustrations I did for Osprey Publishing's Osprey Adventure series. This one in particular is for The Nazi Occult book. Pls note that although these works may seem somewhat historical they're mostly fictional in nature.

    Some Nazis who specialize in the Occult; one is an archeologist while the other two are an SS officer/sorcerer and and SS soldier. Done in 2012.

    But in all seriousness, yeah, he was a kook even by nazi standards. Even Hitler thought he had drank too much of the kool-aid:

    Why do we call the world's attention to the fact that we have no past? It isn't enough that the Romans were erecting great buildings when our forefathers were still living in mud huts; now Himmler is starting to dig up these villages of mud huts and enthusing over every potsherd and stone-axe he finds. All we prove by that is that we were still throwing stone hatchets and crouching around open fires when Greece and Rome had already reached the highest stage of culture. We really should do our best to keep quiet about this past. Instead Himmler makes a great fuss about it all. The present-day Romans must be having a laugh at these revelations.

    Sounds like you have civilization bias. "Erecting great buildings" doesn't automatically make you better than others around you. Spirituality exists and one could argue ancient natives were more in tune with it. Did it make them better than others? No, but it didn't make them worse by any means either.
