I bet most people don’t think “playing in the desert” when summer memories come to mind.
Though I haven’t been there since I was a middle schooler, I used to play at a place like this. Somewhere, (though I won’t say where), there exists a little waterfall in a desert, that flows from a stream. The deepest end is maybe only 150 centimeters deep, and the desert climate keeps the water warm and refreshing all year long. The waterfall is short enough that it can be safely dived from, yet tall enough to provide shade to the pool below and there are shallow areas wherein tired swimmers can sit and enjoy the refreshing vapor-chilled breeze. Fish swim in the stream too, but not so many that it ever becomes crowded. It’s a truly beautiful place. One that I’d like to revisit. I don’t own a car, but at least I can return there in my imagination… While I’m at it, I might as well bring Megumin along.
I tend not to draw backgrounds, but I thought I’d give doing so another try. I would like to get better at painting scenery.
