Agreed on first! As for the second... You'd have to ask the same about A LOT of fashion decisions. But it matches the jacket well and hides the leotard riding up her crotch so it's an idea that kinda works for her?

You might as well ask what's the point of the goggles on her leg.
If the strip of when she was young and when she wore the same helmet is of any indication then she does actually use it during flight and straping it around her thigh is just where she stores it when not in use.
