People don't require the information that "you haven't picked [character] because you already have your sights on a different one", it's literally useless information, which can also be taken the wrong way if you don't start out from the autistic mindset "more clarification is always better!". No, it's not always better, and a normie would only use such a phrasing if he wants to make this picking-a-side (i.e. romance option) the item of the conversation.
