Alex would use his full body armor to block Cole's electricity, beat his ass, and absorb him along with his powers. Then evil doers and other super heroes would have to worry about Alex Mercer with Cole MacGrath's powers.

I assure you, Alex Mercer could not block Cole Macgrath's attacks. But he cannot be killed. The odds are definitely against Cole Macgrath.

Cole MacGrath would simply use his freeze powers he got from Kuo and stop him long enough to bring down the lightning.

Problem is, Mercer can still regenerate after a nuclear blast all but destroyed him. On account of unbelievable ability to take punishment, I call this fight for Mercer.

Mercer seems to have a weakness to electricity, if Cross's shock prod is anything to go by. Not to mention the slightest bump knocks him on his backside and cancels any attacks or combos he had going, even with armour and muscle mass. He's tough but not truly invincible.

Never played as MacGrath much but it's a closer match-up than it looks. He would definitely have the range advantage over Mercer and has a couple of locomotive abilities which Mercer can't easily emulate or catch up with. That said, Mercer could disguise himself and position himself where MacGrath is likely to be or set a trap for him.

A nuclear bomb is comparable to the sun.
Mercer survived being on the edge of the blast trying to escape it, because of that unlucky crow (the irony), and without it he was a puddle. Even if he would regenerate, it would take a long time from that and Cole would have enough ability to end him there.

In 30 microseconds, a lightning strike is 5x hotter than the sun and the only reason why people survive it is because the current doesn't go through their heart or brain, and they received some bad effects from it. Cole can summon it near instantly, and it travels as fast as light/lightning strike. The fact that he can hold off the time for so long (several long seconds) won't mean Alex would be surviving it. If you say he survives it, it'll be like saying he'll survive being in the sun for not just a couple of seconds, but a year

Radar pulse detects radiation, electric currents, minds, hostiles, anything out of ordinary. Any disguise Alex has would be thwarted.

Oh, and Cole happens to posses a weapon that affects Alex as much as a normal human. Lightning.
