Sora no Woto II the Second War

As awesome as those quadruped tanks are, I bet that main gun wouldn't be able to do much against anything other than light vehicles and infantry.

Gear Krieg would be the best comparison, although their designs are bipedal.

My thoughts exactly, but then again, those walking tanks likely are much lighter than tracked ones, so the penetrator needs less kinetic energy.

Dudes... this is sci-fi... alternate reality WWII... You don't even know what the damned thing fires... it could even be an energy cannon!

Considering that a tracked tank would be able to find a "hull-down" position easier, and thus fire up into the weaker belly armor, or at a leg....

It just makes no tactical sense, unless really truly awful terrain is in question, think Afghanistan.
