Two days ago, there was a death in the US Air Force due to a defect in the P320.
Is this really the US military's service pistol?

It will be more modular they said, more modern they said, it will do the job better they said, will do all the work M9 can't do they said.

It's funny to see gun boomers on Facebook who hated on Glock and supported the choice of P320 now come to realization that the Glock they hate so much, might in fact have been the better of two options.

I am infinitely grateful my department permits me to carry something that just has to be compatible with issued ammunition.

Wait, it's still a thing? I thought they already did a recall and fixed it years ago

My guess it ended up as "We promise to fix it!" and then never went to do it, or only to a limited extent.

This is a pretty good video on what's happening with P320: https://youtu.be/jOMQOtOQoPk?si=MLsj4x2LcVBQdovE

Sadly not the first time the US military has been shagged in the back by a weapon manufacturer. I have a book that has a loooong chapter about the M-16 during the Viet-Nam War, and how the departement of Defense was more interested in saving face and preserving appearances than fixing the problem.
And yes, it included silencing whistleblowers.

Honestly I don't like soldiers as much as the next guy but to put up with shit like this, they kinda do deserve some little respect.
