Futuristic full-body armor that not only protects, but enhances physical capabilities. A common form of armor in science fiction and tokusatsu settings, especially in space environments.
Unlike regular body armor, this includes some form of powered exoskeleton or power suit to act as mechanical muscle, enhancing the user's strength.
One of the first appearances of power armor in science fiction was in the novel Starship Troopers (1959).
