Is it me, or is that weapon being used in the bottom left corner a Mega Launcher from Z Gundam? Can't recall if it was used by a HiZack or Hyaku Shiki. But I am almost positive it was used in Z Gundam.

It's a term I've seen used on one guide site to the game. Rifles like NTW-20 and presumably others like IWS-2000 are called "bamboo spears" by some because of their low-ROF, high damage nature. NTW-20 in particular seems to be good at killing some bosses in one shot if you set up the engagement right.
