Some Kris are imbued with spiritual powers by their own respective smith (It's still prevalent in the area where she is) or once belong to powerful warrior of yore, so it's not uncommon for it to have a 'guardian' inside...Think 'em as Tsukumogami, that need to be 'fed' once in a while (via offerings etc...Some Kris, tho, need the blood of Cemani Chicken), or not and expect a hurricane in the room where they are kept. Literally.
