It's not like you would stand still while waiting for another game. I waited a lot for another The Incredibles/Toy Story movie. Heck, I patiently waited like a lot for Shenmue III and Streets of Rage 4. In the meantime there are large backlogs about other things you could do but couldn't during your time at school or work.
Unless of course you are one of those trending cool guys that consumes things for the sake of consuming and forget two days later. Not a bad thing to do, but also not a big deal if you pass on this one while it gets relevant again years after.

There's more than enough games on pc to wait out 3 years instead of buying an expensive console for a couple games.
