to give FGO some credit, the characters normally have either totally different backstories, personalities, strengh/weakness, costumes, ages, dialogues or a combination of all at same time. also the change happens because they are normally from different classes and didn't live the same lives as their base versions, the only exception being the ones which only the costume changes but the rest is more or less the same.

I just remembered a new one. Saber, but a berserker in a swimsuit: That's the fairy caster after her asshole mentor tricked her. She is not happy about it, Saber, but red, says Umu and has dragon horns: That is Nero again, after she accepted that she is The Mother of Harlots from Revelations and has become the first "good" Beast.
